World Port Development
The "Intermodal South America" forum which was held in Sao Paulo last April provided the occasion to underline the interest of the Spanish ports for the South American continent. This is particularly true for Brazil, host country for this event. In spite of the crisis, trade between Spain and Brazil has progressed once again around 15% in 2011 both for exports and imports and the dynamic Brazilian economy is a privileged target for several Spanish ports Panorama

The Mediterranean has been vital for European trade for a long time before the lines switched to the ports of the North. If these ports, from Hamburg to Le Havre, continue to dominate, a rebalancing has been started over the last fifteen years. The positioning as gateway for East and Central Europe, the numerous Mediterranean transhipment hubs opening towards the coastal countries are advantages. Industrial delocalisation to Eastern Europe could also have an impact. Partial panorama
